Is Water Important? (you think??)
Monday, 1 August 2011
The hydrosphere refers to the portion of the earth that is composed of water. As we know the earth is composed of 70% of water. So the question is that whether the hydrosphere is important or not? But Imagine life without water; imagine how it is to live in a world without water.
You can’t imagine right? There are many life forms that can live with just a little water but there is no life without water. Not only do we humans use it about every day, but every living thing needs it to live. Basically
Weather on earth is driven by the cycle of evaporating the first thing you can think of is rain which is truly water. But water can also add to extreme weather conditions such as, drought caused by El Niño which is basically no water, and long rainy season caused by La Niña. Those two conditions give serious economic problems such as farming and fisheries.
But through small things it also affects everyone. Rain is also responsible for the rivers and most of the erosion. Without water the surface on earth would be different and mountains were bigger than they are now and places like Grand Canyon wouldn’t exist.
The first human civilization of man put their villages near the rivers to easily get their food. In all parts of the world the major rivers played a great part in the evolution of man.
Great men such as British, Spanish, Portuguese, and others explored the earth through the ocean. They conquered and colonized what they discovered. Much of what we are today are influenced by the travelers who came exploring the earth long ago. Today the water ways of the world is still a major importance to man. Huge oil tankers, container ships, and other use these routes to go sailing around the world.
Water has much importance than you can imagine but man doesn’t know how to take care of it, and mostly take it for granted. Only when there is shortage of water like drought then will man know the importance of it. I play great respect to those people who live near the dessert they know how precious water is and taking care of it is for them the most important thing. People who live in part of the earth where water plentiful don’t know how to value water
Water has played great importance on everyone of use. So we should learn how to take care of it and preserve it for the next generations.. :]
